My vision of creating a state of the art Career Technical Education (CTE) / Early College campus and expanded CTE courses with career pathways district-wide for students attending school in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is my primary reason for running for the school board.

I began my career after graduating High School in 1976 as a carpenter and was licensed in 1987 by the state of California as a general building contractor. In 1991 I began my second career employed by the California Department of Corrections as a Construction Manager at Avenal State Prison (ASP). In 1998 I obtained my teaching credential and taught Vocational Building Maintenance for 15 years at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison Corcoran (SATF).  I currently work at the Correctional Training Facility at Soledad (CTF) as an Administrator in the Education Department. I currently possess five different Designated Subject teaching credentials as well as a Supervision and Coordination Administrative credential. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and I am a Graduate of the CSBA Masters in Governance program.

I am the father of three grown children who all graduated from public schools, and I’m happily married to my wife Stacey.
“My experience working with students in both the public educational system and convicted felons in the penal system shows the need and importance of quality academic education and increased vocational training in both our public schools and our community colleges. My 37 years in the construction field, 15 years of teaching, educational administrator, a former elected Board Member, President of the Visalia Unified School District , and my volunteerism in the community allows me to better serve our students and, therefore, our future leaders.”
