Extended Learning Opportunities Department

The Extended Learning Opportunities Department (ELO), manages the Academy Programs which include, the After School Academy, Intersession programs, Summer School, Saturday School (Middle and High School students only) and Family Literacy events. The department's funding comes from both state and federal grants.  The Academy Programs are free to participating students grades 1-12 and offer California Content-Standard aligned, experiential (hands-on) learning programs that provide life and academic skill development in a fun, engaging environment.

 
The Academy Program, in addition to offering content-standard aligned academic lessons, also offers enrichment opportunites in Art, Technology, Science, Creative Writing, Soccer, Karate, etc.

After School Campus Academy Available this Fall!


Dear Parents:

MPUSD is committed to providing the best educational experience to all students to help them succeed. We want to assure you that after school care services such as Stone Soup will continue at Monte Vista and Olson Elementary Schools. We also want you to know that we are excited to announce the opening of a new fee–based program that will be available for the Monterey Learning Community students and families at Foothill and La Mesa Elementary Schools this coming year.  The “After School Academic and Enrichment Academy Program” (ASCA) will begin with the first day of school in August at both Foothill and La Mesa Elementary Schools. The new “Campus Academy”  program will be offering families after school care and academic support from 2:30 to 6:00 each afternoon. This Fee-Based Program, ($200.00/mo.) has been developed based on parent surveys distributed last spring. The survey indicated parents are seeking programming emphasizing in; 1.Homework Tutorials  2. Arts & Crafts Activities  3. Music Activities and 4. PE, Math, and Science Activities.

We are excited to enroll your student(s) in the program. Please complete the Registration Information.
